Teams Channel

Teams are made up of channels, which are the conversations you have with your teammates. Each channel is dedicated to a specific topic, department, or project.

A team can have standard or private channels. A standard channel is opened for all the members of the teams whereas the private channels is opened for only specific members in the team.By default, all the members of a team can create channels.

Note:

Every time when a user creates new team or a channel in Microsoft Teams, a team site SharePoint get automatically created.

How to Add a channel?

Steps:

Click on the … 3 dots of the Team in which you want to add channel.



Click on Add Channel



Type the channel name, description and click on Add. Under the privacy, you can choose 3 options. i.e., Standard, Private & Shared

Standard: Everyone on the team has access

Private: Specific Teammates have access

Shared: People you choose from your org or other org have access



Adding the channel



The channel is now created in the Team.



You can create separate channels for each project and topics.
