All about chat and apps in Teams
Chat
is the feature in Microsoft Teams where you can find a lot of options. For
example, format your text, send pictures and GIF, use emojis, attach files and
so on.
Let’s
learn more about chat options. Below are some of the important options that we use
mostly in day to day use of Teams.
Compose Mailbox
The
First option available on the chat box is the compose mailbox. Utilizing this
you can compose the message and customize the size, format etc. as per your
need.
Mark as Important
If you
have to highlight the message as an important message, then you can also mark as
important. For that click on the “!” sign and click on Important. Also, if you
want your message to be urgent you can choose the Urgent which will notify the recipient
in every 2 minutes for 20 minutes.
Attach
You
can attach the file to the chat if required.
Loop Components
Send
a component that everyone in the chat can edit inline.
Emoji
Express
your reactions through the Emoji’s
Giphy
Send
the GIF images to during the conversation to make the chat more attractive.
Sticker
Send
the sticker to the chat as per the context in the conversation for the attraction.
Praise
In Hybrid working environment, praising someone in the teams channels could be a motivation for the employees.
To
praise someone, select the appropriate badge and send to the person with the
message.
Reactions
Show
your reaction to other’s message. Hover around the message you will find the
popup for the reaction.
Edit,
Delete, Pin, Reply
Right
Click on the message you will find the option to reply, edit , delete and pin.
Apps
Search
and add the app as per your requirement.
For
this demonstration, lets add the location app. Click on the 3 dots and select
the places

Now share
the location which you want to share
The location is now shared
When
the recipient opens the link then they will be redirect to the Bing Map.
Admin
Adding the app to the Microsoft Teams can lead to the quick performance of the administrator. Manage the user’s configuration from the Teams app itself.
Search the app
Pin
the app or find the app after clicking in the 3 dots
Change the theme
User can change the theme in Teams. For that click on the 3dots and click on the settings.
Select the appropriate theme
In this demonstration, Dark theme is chosen.
